Ruth Adele Emerson's Obituary
Ruth Adele Emerson, 85, of Weir, KS, died on Monday, March 25, 2024 at the Galena Nursing Home in Galena, KS.
She was born August 5, 1938 in Pittsburg, KS, the daughter of Frank and Pauline (Studebaker) Passmore.
On March 25, 1967, she married Richard Emerson, he preceded her in death.
Ruth worked as a bookkeeper for NAPA Auto Parts for many years.
She was an active member and a devout Christian of the Columbus Christian Center of Columbus, KS and took pleasure in oil painting.
Survivors include her step-children, Sherry Phipps of Pittsburg, KS, Jeff Emerson and wife Christine, of Mounds, OK, 4 siblings, Norman Passmore and wife Lois of LaGrange, Georgia, Paul Passmore of Washington, Marilyn Westhoff and husband Brendan of Saint Louis, MO, Margaret Masterson and husband Kenneth of Joplin, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 step-children, Dick Emerson, Gib Emerson, brother Gary Passmore and sister in law Nancy Passmore.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Friday, March 29, 2024 at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Columbus Christian Center or the S.E.K Humane Society.
