Dustine Mckowen
To us, she was always known as Aunt Dolly. In her Family growing up she was always referred to as Dolly by her mom her dad and her brother. I am one of her brothers' daughters, and I always thought the world of her though we never lived near one another always in different states, it was always a happy event to look forward to when she and her family were coming for a visit. She had such great humor she could always make someone laugh, and you could never meet anyone nicer. Going way back to when we were little children we all met meaning my parents and Aunt Dolly and her family at the lake cabin of our grandma and grandpa Peterson. The cabin was out on Briggs Lake in Clear Lake Minnesota. It was such a fun week our two families spent a week together visiting at the cabin. She and my mom would bring us swimming take us on picnics at the local beach, relaxing and just having fun at that cabin, it was always a long-ago happy memory for me. Whenever they came to visit it was always an adventure of some kind, there was the time we all got in two cars and followed each other to bring our grandma Mary on the long trip to see the Grotto in Iowa. Again, another fun and happy memory. I consider myself very fortunate to have known her and to have had her as a part of my life She was always wonderful and kind to me. I will miss our card exchanges and miss having her just a mailbox away.
I will miss you, absolutely
Love, Dusty
