Janet Leigh Dutton's Obituary
Janet Leigh Dutton died at her home on January 1st, 2022 at the age of 71. Janet was born in Wichita, KS and moved with her husband to Pittsburg, KS in 1972. She worked as a middle school teacher in Liberal, MO until retirement. For the last 10 years of her life, she worked at the Pittsburg Public Library. Janet and her husband, Rod, were known for creating a welcoming community for their family and friends, both at their home and at the cabin they built together with those same family and friends. Janet’s bright, welcoming, and loving spirit will be missed by the many lives she touched through her work, friendship, humor, and creativity.
She is survived by her sons, Eric and his wife Rebecca of Gainesville, FL, and Tim and his wife Jessica of Fort Worth, TX; three grandchildren, Eric's daughter Isabel and Tim and Jessica's sons Gordon and Oliver; and her sister, Cindy Coughenour of Wichita, KS. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rod, and her parents, Lyle and Dorothy Cushing of Wichita, KS.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pittsburg Public Library, these may be left at or mailed to the funeral home
