Detlef John Jaussaud, 76, of Arma, KS, passed away at his residence on December 28, 2024. Det was born on October 6, 1948, in Yakima, WA, to Victor and Mary (Holm) Jaussaud. Det proudly served his country as a member of the Unit Read Obituary
I met Det in Boy Scouts when I was in the 6th grade. Spent a lot of time at his house and later joined him, Wylie, and Vic on many hunting and fishing trips. The summer after high school graduation, 1967, I introduced Det to Nancy on a double date. He got his driver's license shortly after. Det joined the Marine Corps and I left for WSU. We lost contact a few years later. Det and the Jaussaud family are truly missed.
Det was an amazing man, hard working and always kept you on track, he was a great parter at YCDOC. I loved the time I spent fishing, shooting, traveling to gun shows and many, many hours of stories over beverages. I was blessed to have visited with Det during his last visit to Yakima this past summer and cruising around in his vintage Studebaker. You will be missed my old friend.
Det was a good man. Worked with him for many years. He had some great stories, mostly about hunting or guns. He would always lend me hunting videos. Taught me some great knowledge on the locks that I still show new hires to this day. My condolences.
I worked with Det for many years. He was a good friend and was always ready to assist when needed. Many times he and about 4 or 5 of us would go out to breakfast after working a graveyard shift and he was always good company. I remember his “ code word” for getting together with us after work was “ K’vass” which he said meant. “ beer.” He and Nancy were a sweet couple and we attended many work parties together. Always such a pleasant man to be around. He will be missed by many.
Your Father was a very nice man. We had nice conversations when he came to where I work ( John’s Sport Center) We would talk about how cool his old car was! I will miss getting to visit with him. Sorry for your loss.

Amanda, so sorry for your loss. Didn't know your dad well but sounds like he led an interesting life, gave service to this country, and loved his daughter and grandchildren well. Best wishes to you all.
