David (Dave) Ray Anderson

David (Dave) Ray Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully in Frontenac KS. Born January 4, 1942, in Grafton, North Dakota, Dave lived a life defined by family, service, and music.
In 1964, Dave married the love of his life, Kay Anderson, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage until her passing in April 2018. Together, they built a family filled with love, raising four children: Teri (Baker), Stacey (John), Mike (Erin), and Rob (Ginger). His legacy continues through his grandchildren Jason (Morgan) Berkgren, Jay Temaat, Jenna Berkgren, Alexis (Jordan) Dinoffria, Grace (Cale) Franklin, Andrew Anderson, Jaime Berkgren, Josh Temaat, Cooper Anderson, Ella Anderson, and Josie Anderson; and his cherished great-grandchildren Brody Berkgren, MilliAna Dinoffria, Adiline Dinoffria, and Sofia Franklin.
Dave graduated from the University of North Dakota and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Wichita, Kansas. Following his service, he began a distinguished career with the Boy Scouts of America, where he touched countless lives through his leadership and dedication. Later in his career, he became a computer consultant for the BSA National Office in the Chicago area, working alongside Texas Instruments.
Dave retired early to cherish his golden years surrounded by his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love, laughter, and family. Dave and Kay enjoyed many summers after retirement at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Their children often visited, creating memories that remain close to their hearts.
Family and music were the heart of Dave’s life. He and Kay shared their deep love of music with their children, creating a home filled with song and harmony. His Pickin’ Parlor, nestled alongside Pickle Pete’s Bar & Grill, became a true gem for musicians, friends, and family alike, where they gathered to play guitars and share unforgettable moments with Dave. He was a huge part in the building of Pickled Pete’s Music Venue… he will be missed by many!!
A private burial will be held in Oakley, Kansas, where Dave will be buried alongside Kay and his parents.
