Mr Smokewood was always a great teacher that provided an excellent learning atmosphere that engaged his students. My nickname was "Haskell you Rascal". I enjoyed his teaching method and I had the privilege to be a teaching assistant in Biology class during my Senior year. He was a topic of discussion during our 1969 50th Class Reunion. My sincere and respectful condolences to the family.
Mr. Smokewood was a substitute teacher after he retired and we all loved him. He was kind and funny and made learning fun. My thoughts are with his family.

Smokey and Margaret were good friends and good neighbors to my family. He was a genuine character with a great sense of humor. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to Cathy and family.
RIP Mr. Smokewood - aka “Smokey”. He was a wonderful teacher. He made science easy by his persuasive way of teaching. But he was more than a teacher. He was our biggest champion. He truly loved his job and loved his students too! I can still hear him saying his infamous catch phrase “what’s your trouble little bubble”.
I’m sure he missed his wife and so now they are finally united, forever. The loss of your father Cathleen is hard. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Those of us left here on Earth will miss him until we all are reunited.
Mr. Smokewood was my favorite teacher at Southeast. I will never forget the fun but most of all the way he taught. If you didn't understand he was always right there to help. With the phrase "what's your trouble little bubble" . Thank you Mr. Smokewood for being the best teacher!! You will always be remembered.
Mr. Smokewood was one of my favorite teachers at Southeast High School. He was fun but also taught me a great deal about science. I loved his classes and am grateful for the admiration and respect of science he helped instill. Rest in peace, kind sir! Thank you for your dedication to teaching!
