William Clyde Mynatt's Obituary
WILLIAM CLYDE MYNATT, 85, of Ft. Myers, FL, died at 10:01 am, Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the Hope Hospice facility in Cape Coral, FL, following an illness.
William was born July 20, l937, in Weir, Kansas, the son of William Henry and Essie Arlene (Lair) Mynatt. He earned degrees from Wichita University and Harvard.
On August 18, l956, William married Mary Bernice Schuckman in Wichita, KS, who survives at the family home in Ft. Myers. William began his retail career selling shoes part time at Montgomery Ward and advanced to the office of Vice President, then later, was CEO of his own company, Storehouse, a chain of retail furniture stores. He was passionate about work, about family, his children, Arienne and Jason, and his beloved grand-daughter Aubrey, and too, about travel and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice, his daughter, Arienne Alicia, his son, William Jason, Jason’s wife, Kelly, and his only grandchild, Aubrey, and also by his brother Richard (Roy) Mynatt and his wife Joetta of Pittsburg.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Essie.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS, with Pastor Duane Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 pm, Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home.
