William Lee Miller's Obituary
William Lee Miller, age 80, of Weir, KS, passed away on April 24, 2025, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO.
He was born on August 28, 1944, to Robert L. and Edna L. (Murdock) Miller. On November 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Marian Lloyd in Pittsburg, KS.
A skilled carpenter by trade, William worked for many years as a self-employed craftsman before finishing his career at R.E. Smith Construction Company, where he later retired. He was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Union in Pittsburg, KS.
William was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in fishing, hunting, gardening, and traveling. He cherished time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Miller of the home, nephew, David Miller (Kelley) of Pittsburg, KS , who he loved and cared for as a son.; daughters, Melinda VanBuren (Jeff) of Coffeyville, KS, and Melissa Ragan (Michael) of Cherryvale, KS; four grandchildren, Nicholas Ragan, Colt Booth (Kylie), Dakota Booth (Emily), and Chaneya Julich (Tyler); five great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Kay Booth, McKynlee and Everett Booth, and Samuel Julich; and two brothers, Melvin Miller and Charlie Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Juanita Pursell, Jake Miller, Pete Miller, and Kathy Parr.
Graveside services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and may be mailed or dropped off at the funeral home, 104 W. Main Street Weir, KS 66781.
