Wendy Sue Markley's Obituary
Wendy Sue Markley 53, of McCune, KS died 8:39 am Sunday February 2, 2025 at her home following an illness.
Wendy was born April 18, 1971 in Parsons, KS the daughter of Bobby Dean and Carla Ann (Albertson) Markley. Wendy was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Southeast High School in 1989 then moved on to earn her Radiology Degree at Labette Community College.
On August 30, 2014 Wendy married Ron Gene Hignite in Eureka Springs, Arkansas; he survives at the home. Wendy worked for many years at Hickory Hole in Parsons, KS as a Waitress. Wendy was of the Christian Faith; she was a member of the Elks Lodge; Eagles; Boat Club of Riverton, KS; enjoyed fishing; gardening; baking; home style cooking and was known as a great flute player. Wendy was recently baptized in September by Pastor Aaron Williams. Wendy was always eager to help those in need, especially the people she cared for most. Wendy was always one that gave more than she received. You never had to worry about an empty stomach if Wendy was around as she was happy to provide home cooked meals. Wendy had a smile and a laugh that would brighten the day.
Survivors include her husband; daughter Victoria Doleshal and husband Aaron of Ft. Worth, TX; sisters Robin Ann Chartier and husband Dennis of McCune, KS and Stacy Marie Gray and husband Tony of Nixa, MO; nieces Hailey Moss and Laney Gray; nephew Alex Gray and 2 grandchildren she dearly loved Ryan and Tate Doleshal.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father Bobby Dean Markley. Her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Thursday February 6, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home with Pastor Aaron Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Star Cemetery in West Mineral, KS. Family will receive friends from 1-2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
