I just saw this notice. So sorry for all of you, but especially Ann, because that is who I know best of Thelma's family. She was the sweetest lady and all the tributes already written are true. I loved seeing her at the county fair or anywhere. When she saw you, her face lit up like you were the most important person in the world. And I am sure there are hundreds of people that would say the same thing. She was always happy to see me. She will be greatly missed by many people. Air Hugs 1-2-3 to all of you.
My Aunt Thelma! The old saying that dynamite comes in small packages was a good description! I remember stories of her and my Mom pulling stunts such as letting some people make the wrong observation and think that because of her diminutive size that Aunt Thelma was my Mom's daughter though there were only a few years difference in their ages. I can close my eyes and see Aunt Thelma sitting in the high chair at our house looking at a Sears catalog and regaling us with stories of her activities in 4-H Extension. She could light up a room with her mischievous grin and an ornery twinkle in her eyes. I remember many, many Thanksgivings and Christmas Eves our two families spent together. For more years than I can count she provided the "back home Fruitcake" at Christmas that my husband and I would fight over as to who got that last prized slice! We laughed, we cried, we argued but most of all we loved as family! I thank God for the gift of you in my life Aunt Thelma! Kiss Uncle Bill for me.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Thiele, Wofford & Steinbach family on this day of Thelma Thieli services. Love, Jim & Glenda Allen
Jim, I just heard about your Mom's passing. She was a sweet lady and I have fond memories of her. My heart goes out to you and your family.
Heart broken at the passing of my sweet little Auntie T. and additionally grieved that I cannot be with the rest of the family. She was much more than an Aunt to me more like a second mom as well as a great friend. Words cannot express the depth of my love for this tiny little woman. I love you and miss you Auntie T. Love Janet and Bud("Your favorite son-in-law")
Sending my sympathy to the family from California. My favorite memories of Thelma are from the Smith Family Reunions held in Joplin, Mo. And Easter celebrations at my Great Aunt Eva's home in Kansas. She often spoke of her husband and now she is with him and their son.
