Terry Joseph Fernetti's Obituary
Terry Joseph Fernetti 78, of Frontenac, KS died 8:05am Tuesday June 30, 2026 at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Terry was born September 10, 1947 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Romeo Joseph and Mary Grace (Hoffman) Fernetti. He lived in the Frontenac community most of his life. Terry was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and later Kansas State College earning a degree in Education. He later earned his Masters Degree at Emporia State University. Terry worked for the Independence, KS School District for 45 years teaching Art.
Terry was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he was known to serve on committees; enjoyed decorating the school for special occasions; supported the PSU Public Library; was a stand out side arm pitcher for his Lindburg Little Leage baseball team in Pittsburg, KS; volunteered at the church placing flowers at the feet of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary’s statue at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and most of all took care of his younger brother Ronnie who he always cherished.
Survivors include his sister Gloria J. Fernetti of Frontenac, KS and numerous cousins of the Fernetti and Hoffman sides of the family.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronnie Fernetti.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday July 9, 2026 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Josh Evans as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will recite the rosary at 7:00pm Wednesday July 8, 2026 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; family will receive friends following the rosary from 7:30-8:30 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Ronnie Scholarship Fund. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
