For Shirley's family: Shirley worked with me at Residential Center for Youth during the 80s and 90s, a time of rapid transition for that organization with almost daily changes and challenges. She was my go-to staff person to help take our business from paper and pencil bookkeeping/accounting into the computer age. We began with no one on staff having any worthwhile computer skills whatsoever-Shirley volunteered to learn and build that part of our family service oriented business. She worked tirelessly, always fretting, to get the skills and data organization we needed and was quickly pumping out all federal, state and insurance forms to put and keep us in compliance-- until RCY merged with KVC. Her dedication to our work was superseded only by her overt love, pride and dedication for her family. She talked of her sons often and then of grandchildren as they came along. Totally devoted...that is what Shirley chose for herself. I had not seen her for several years but I did see her in Walmart (best place to run into folks) a couple years ago (pre-COVID) to catch up. We shared our medical diagnoses, caught up on family members and were happy to have at least a brief time to visit again.God bless her and you who continue her legacy of goodness.
