Shirley Nadyne Gerwert's Obituary
Shirley Nadyne Gerwert 91, of Weir, KS died 2:34pm Saturday August 30, 2025 at her home following an illness.
Shirley was born October 7, 1933 in Hume, MO the daughter of Carl L. and Mona E. (Zwahlen) Keith. Shirley was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and later moved to Toledo, Ohio where she worked as a Branch Manager for Ohio Citizens Bank for 38 years. She then moved back to the area in 1993.
On April 30, 1955 Shirley married Bennie I. Gerwert at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on December 6, 1994.
Shirley was of the Baptist Faith; she was a member of the SNPJ Lodge #225; Elks Lodge of Ohio and Kansas; member of the Chicopee Foundation; was known to keep a beautiful yard and enjoyed a good game of cards.
Survivors include her niece Kristie Watson-Bell of Pittsburg, KS and special friends Dan Scales and wife Rhonda of Pittsburg, KS.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Norma Watson.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Wednesday September 3, 2025 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Chaplain Pete Mayo officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 10—11:00am prior to the service at funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Chicopee Foundation.
