Ruth Menghini's Obituary
Ruth Menghini 91, of Girard, KS died 6:20am Monday July 18, 2016 at the Girard Medical Center following an illness.
Ruth was born July 21, 1924 in Neosho, MO the daughter of Raymond and Emma (Tuggle) Zehr. Ruth was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Pittsburg High School.
On June 30, 1953 Ruth married Henry E. Menghini in Pittsburg, KS; he preceded her in death on February 26, 2006. Ruth worked all her life as a homemaker and devoted caregiver to her son Jimmy Menghini. Ruth was of the Christian Faith; her main devotion in life was providing for her family and the care of her son Jimmy.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews Edgar E. Graves, Debbie Weaver, Karen Brooks, Gina Busby, Sandy Forbes, Scott Heflin, Robin Zehr, Daniel Ray Zehr, Randall Zehr, Michael Brandon, William Kevin Brandon, Kyla Woods, Jeff Woods, Aaron Michael Weaver and Chase Andrew Weaver.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jimmy Menghini, siblings Harold Zehr, Raymond Zehr Jr., Lee Zehr, Ethel Mae Graves, Lorene Herman, Ella Marie Heflin, Florine Marquis and a niece Terry Woods.
Graveside Services will be 10:00am Wednesday July 20, 2016 at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Frontenac, KS with Pastor Dennis Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Mt. Carmel Cemetery Maintenance Fund.
