Ruth Irene Lane's Obituary
Ruth Irene Lane, 91, of Pittsburg, KS formerly a long time resident of Cherokee, died Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Ascension Via Christi Village in Pittsburg.
She was born October 25, 1931 in Warrenton, MO the daughter of Herschel M. and Elizabeth (Kruger) Benson.
Ruth was a graduate of Crawford County Community High School, Class of 1949.
On December 24, 1950 she married Jack K. Lane; he preceded her in death on September 14, 2015.
She was a Homemaker and attended South Broadway Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons; Jack Lane of Pittsburg, KS, Rob Lane and wife Linda of Webb City, MO, two brothers; Bill Benson and wife Rosalyn of Edwardsville, KS, Jim Benson of Cherokee, KS, three grandchildren; Ryan Lane and wife Karsen of Pleasant Hill, MO, Andy Lane and wife Courtney of Overland Park, KS, Tanner Lane of Overland Park, KS and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Graveside Services will be Friday, April 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Cherokee City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be sent to the American Cancer Society. Friends may call after 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
