Ruth J Bradney's Obituary
Ruth J. Bradney 91, of Pittsburg, KS died 5:55pm Friday January 8, 2021 at the Via Christi Village in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Ruth was born June 15, 1929 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Mike and Frances (Sigler) Saporito. She was a graduate of Columbus High School and lived her working life in Manhattan, KS, Topeka, KS and Council Bluffs, IA. On October 15, 1949 Ruth married Edward M. Bradney in Scammon, KS; he preceded her in death on April 18, 2017. Ruth worked as a book-keeper for the Riley County Clerks’ Office and K-State Ticket office. Ruth was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS.
Survivors include her sister Delores Bolinger of Pittsburg, KS; son Claude Ed Bradney and wife Jill of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren Tyler Bradney and wife Lindsey of Topeka, KS and Joshua Bradney and wife Dawn of Argyle, TX; great-grandchildren Carson Thomas Bradney and Lauren Olivia Bradney.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Michael Saporito and sister Anna Mae Hicks.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday June 3, 2021 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Jerome Spexarth as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS. Family will recite the rosary prior to the mass. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund.
