When we were kids, we lived on West 3rd st. and the Vergas lived on West 2nd. We earned Christmas money by gathering pecans and selling them. Rosetta was so crazy about her grandchildren. She never missed putting their pictures in the newspaper’s “Little Valentines Day” section when I worked for The Morning Sun. I really enjoyed her. It meant so much to me that even when that particular project was no longer officially mine, she called me directly. She made me feel like I was the one she could count on to be sure that everything was perfect. Her confidence in me inspired me. Her love for her family inspired me. She lit up when she talked about them and told me all about the girls full names which were beautiful & unique. She was so proud of Billy & Kim and they’re amazing relationship. She helped me learn that you don’t have to be a rocket scientist or a Pulitzer Prize winner in this world to make a difference. All it takes is a little sweetness & love. My heart aches for her family who I know will miss her terribly. May they find comfort in knowing how much she loved them all.
The first time I ever saw Rosetta was when she stopped by a house that Bill was building for our family in Knoll view addition many years ago! I was only 15 years old and I thought she was so pretty! Bill built 2 more houses for my husband and me and we live in the last one now. She loved “Lttle Bill” more than anyone and shared that love with all the spouses of her precious grandchildren! I know she’ll be very missed by her family she loved so much. Sending heartfelt sympathy to this sweet family 🙏🔉
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Rosetta was one of the kindest and sweetest ladies I've known. We have many many sweet memories of her and Bill at the girls ballgames. Rosetta would be as proud of Jill as she was Annie and Charli! You could tell that her four granddaughters were the light of her life!! I know she will certainly be enjoying her lfe in Heaven and will be waiting to greet each of her loved ones someday!! Your family is loved!
My memories of Sweet Rose are of time spent visiting with her when she was at Bill and Kim’s house for family celebrations. She usually had a baby or a puppy on her lap sharing lots of love.❤️ When I was around Rose, she was always very gentle and soft spoken—-however, I’ve heard great tales of her orneriness 🤣Rest peacefully, Sweet Rose 🌹
