Rose M. Giffin's Obituary
Rose M. Giffin, 82, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born January 14, 1939 in St. Paul, KS, the daughter of William F. and Clema T. (Davenport) Kennedy.
Rose was married to Lyman Giffin, he preceded her in death on June 10, 2017.
She was a quilter for many years.
Rose enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and birdwatching. If she wasn’t spending time outside, she was putting a puzzle together or playing a few slots at the casino.
She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother. She was cherished by all and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rose is survived by her two sons; David Giffin of Kansas City, KS, Kenny (Cheryl) Giffin of Pittsburg, KS, four daughters; Penny (Jerry) Wente of Frontenac, KS, Marjorie Giffin of Pittsburg, KS, Lea Ann (Larry) Nunnaley of West Plains, MO, Ellen Davis of LaGrange, OR, one brother; Rex (Joni) Colvin of Wichita, KS, two sisters; Norma Gregerson of Neosho, MO, Alice Pethtel of Warsaw, MO, ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Richard Kennedy and infant brother Claud Kennedy.
A celebration of life will be held on August 14, 2021 from 12pm -3pm at the Frontenac Senior Citizen Center in Frontenac, KS, lunch will be provided.
Memorials may be sent to the S.E.K Humane Society; these may be mailed or dropped off to the funeral home.
