Ronnie E. Fernetti's Obituary
Ronnie E. Fernetti, 73 of Frontenac, died Thursday, March 24, 2022 at the Medicalodge of Frontenac, KS.
He was born November 1, 1948 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Romeo Joseph and Mary Grace (Hoffman) Fernetti.
He attended and graduated from the Pittsburg High School in 1966, he then went on to the Kansas State College (now PSU) where he graduated with a Bachelors degree in 1970.
He was inducted into the US Army in 1970 where he served for 18 months. He then transferred to the US Navy where he served until 1978 and was honorably discharged. Towards the end of the Navy career, he was on a funeral detail team and provided funeral honors for deceased veterans.
Ronnie was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac. He also was an umpire for Little League Baseball with Pittsburg Parks and Rec.
Survivors include a brother Terry Fernetti and a sister Gloria Fernetti both of Frontenac.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a very close friend Don R. Fischer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Josh Evans as Celebrant. Friends may stop by the funeral home at their convenience from 12pm-5pm Friday through Sunday and 8am-5pm Monday. Condolences may be left at www.friskelfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the family to be used for a charity that will be named later. The family would like to acknowledge the generosity of the following Pallbearers: Gordie Gregory, Bill Wachter, Jeff Hoffman, Ron Fenton, Gerald Hoffman and Shane Haraughty. The Family would like to give a special Thank-You to all of the staff at Medicalodge for his wonderful care. Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Friskel Funeral Home Frontenac.
