Rodrick "Rob" Hunt's Obituary
Rodrick “Rob” Hunt, 64, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 9:28am on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at his home following an illness.
Rob was born January 4, 1960 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Ralph and Irene (Jones) Hunt. He was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Pittsburg High School.
On July 26th, 1980, Rob married Rebecca “Becky” L. Kanaga; although they later divorced, they remained devoted to their two children. He later married Sherry L. Stafford on August 13th, 1994; though the marriage ended, they remained close friends. Rob's career spanned several fields, including roles at the Kansas Ammunition Plant, a licensed insurance agent, and many years in facilities maintenance at Pittsburg State University.
Rob was a member of Open Door Fellowship Church in Pittsburg, KS; he also attended Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg, KS for many years. He was a gifted musician, sharing his talent with his church communities, and a passionate photographer, frequently seen with a camera in hand. Most importantly, he was known as a compassionate, loving father and grandfather.
Survivors include his children Angelina “Angel” Hunt of Pittsburg, KS and Seth Hunt and wife Elyse of Spring Hill, KS; grandchildren Andrew Hunt, Ariel Hunt, Jasmine Hunt, Lilly Hunt, and great-grandson, Adonis; along with several nieces, great nieces, and great nephews.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, beloved sister JoNita Otto, and close cousin Billie Gore.
Funeral services will be 10:00am Thursday August 22, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Don Talent officiating. Private burial will be at a later date at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00pm Wednesday August 21, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00pm Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Open Door Fellowship Church.
