Richard T. Swink's Obituary
Richard T. Swink, 88 of Frontenac died at 6:54 p.m. Sunday August 21, 2016 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Frontenac.
He was born November 18, 1927 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Theodore and Verba (Hosman) Swink.
Richard attended Pittsburg schools and lived his entire life in the Pittsburg/Frontenac area.
He married Therese Fager on November 5, 1949 in Girard, KS; she survives at the home.
Richard was a devoted employee of Campbell 66 Truck Lines for 40 years. During this time he received numerous driving awards and was greeted daily at each of his delivery stops.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Gent’s and Jane’s Square Dance Club and the M&M Club.
Survivors include his wife Therese of the home; two sons Richard Swink Jr. and wife Tana of Frontenac; Jim Swink and wife Theresa of Pittsburg; two daughters, Barbara Barto and husband Doug of Frontenac, Margaret Beasley and husband Bill of Pittsburg; 11 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Betty Knapp and Kathleen Wheat
A rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac where the family will receive friends following until 8 p.m. The casket will remain closed at all times.
