My Uncle Richard was more like a father to me instead of an uncle. We either lived with him or near him from the time I was born in 1976 until around 2003 or 2004. For over 28 years of my life, he was just around the corner or a step out the door away. He was forced to move back to Kansas to have more help with My Aunt Carolyn who was very sick & getting worse. My Aunt Carolyn & him moved every time we did. He followed us from Missouri, Texas, Illinois & Kentucky. He taught me so much. From how to ride a bicycle, how to fish, how to milk a cow, how to work on just about everthing! He could fix anything. He taught me how to read, helped me with my homework & taught me how to do crosswords. He was there when I graduated, when I got married & when my daughter, Madilyn was born. They loved each other just as much. She wanted to see him everyday. I love him more than can be imagined. He is & will always be my hero.
