Phillip Dale Allred II's Obituary
Phillip Dale Allred II, 76, of Pittsburg, Kansas, passed away peacefully at Mercy Hospital in Joplin, MO, March 8, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on May 30, 1949, to Phil Allred Sr and Oreta (Rink) in Pittsburg, KS.
He married Linda Richey in Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 28, 1969.
He spent his entire life in Southeast Kansas and was known by friends, coworkers, and family as a hardworking and dependable man who took great pride in his family.
Phil wore many hats during his career, co-owned O&A Painting, worked in the coal mines as a heavy equipment operator and finished his career working for the City of Pittsburg
Phil was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing on the river. He valued family above all else.
Survivors include his wife Linda of the home, sister Denise Harrod (Larry). Two daughters Mendy Hamilton (Shawn); Stacey Darrow (Kirk). Grandchildren: Kaleb Hamilton (Brooke); Kolton Darrow (Gabby); Madison Darrow (Nick) and Malorie Hamilton. Nephews, Todd Harrod (Michelle); Justin Harrod (Krischa).
He is also survived by his cherished great-grandchildren, Ellison Mae, Lennyn Rae, and Beau Tyler and the newest Baby Darrow due in September who brought him great joy.
Phil will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family to celebrate the life of Phil — husband, father and PaPa — on Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m., March 11, 2026, at the Allred household, 808 W. Kansas St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
The family asks that those who wish to honor Phil’s memory keep him and his loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time.
