Phil was a wonderful friend during my time in Pittsburg. I admired his commitment to standing up for what was right for the citizens of Kansas in the Senate. He truly is loved and missed!
Sending my sad condolences to Pat and family. I enjoyed knowing Phil for four decades in Pittsburg and again in Topeka. In addition to the pleasure of his friendship i cannot say enough good things about his public service. Phil would speak up loud and clear without hesitation when he felt the peoples' interests were being sacrificed to economic power or political convenience. He was always someone who could and would sort through the BS and tell folks "how the cow ate the cabbage". We will miss him. RIP, buddy.
He was a good friend and neighbor whose “knowing” laugh made you rethink the certainty of your last statement. I will miss seeing him from my kitchen window round the corner ever so slowly on his favorite Ducati motorcycle. My condolences to Pat, John, Alexandra and Ross.
Quite guy but when he spoke he always something interesting to say! He loved breakfast at Bobs and I ran into him often! He and his bride were always smiling! We will miss him!
So sorry for the loss of Phil. He truly was a man for the people, not only in his political service, but in his life in the community of Southeast Kansas!
