Patricia Ann Stice's Obituary
Patricia Ann Stice, 86, passed away peacefully following a short illness at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
Patricia was born in Bartlett, KS on December 20, 1936, to Freddie and Mabel (Walker) Thornburg. She was raised in Scammon, KS and the rural Columbus, KS area. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1954, and was then united in marriage to Richard Roy Stice on March 15, 1958, in Miami, OK.
Patricia held a deep dedication to her faith, fulfilling roles as an Elder, Deacon, and Clerk to the First Presbyterian Church in Oswego. Following the closure of the First Presbyterian, Patricia joined the Oswego Methodist Church. She was also regularly involved in the Arts Club of Oswego.
Patricia is survived by her children, Steven Stice, Michael Stice, and JoAnna Yardley; grandchildren Jenna Yardley and Justin Yardley; sister Deborah (Gary) Turner; sisters-in-law RoAnn (Richard) Sevart and Rebecca (Ted) Edmondson; brothers-in-law Ronnie Mercer and “Pepper” Martin; and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Freddie and Mabel Thornburg; sisters Cuba Thornburg, Thelma Martin, and Wanda Mercer; her brother-in-law Robert (Mary Jane) Stice; and her late husband, Richard Stice.
Patricia is to be cremated through the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home and Crematory of Columbus, KS. A Memorial Service will be held at the Oswego Methodist Church at 1pm on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Burial will follow at the Oswego Cemetery. The family invites friends and loved ones to a visitation from 6-8pm on Monday, June 26, 2023 at the Oswego Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oswego City Park.
