Patricia was born to Ethyl L. (Maddox) and Homer Gaylord Baird at their home in rural Weir, KS. She was the youngest of 5 children. Patricia went to school in Cherokee, KS. She married her first husband Ernest B. Long Jr. in 1954 and they had 2 children, Richard Lynn Long and Mary Kim (Marty) Long.
Patricia worked in Graphic Arts at VACOHY and Pittcraft before becoming a business owner. She married the love of her life, Donald Joseph Rohrbaugh on February 11, 1970. Patricia and her husband were business owners all their lives until they retired in 2008.
Patricia leaves behind her daughter Mary Kim (Marty) VanHouton (Michael) and grandchildren Disty Lynn Long (Jay), Lucas Eugene Blaine Hollingsworth, Lindsey Elaine Chase (Travis), and Larry Wayne Large (Kristy) of Council Bluff, Iowa. Her sister Anna Katherine Campbell of Lake Charles, Louisiana. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews, including Linda and Gaylord Hoffman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters Mary Hoffman and Betty Hurlburt. One brother Arnold Baird, her son Richard Lynn Long (Donna) and her parents.
Patricia was a long-time member of the Democrat party. She helped form a local Democratic group “De Wyld Ones”.
Patricia is sadly missed by her family, including her good friends.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers can be sent to the Diabetes Foundation or the American Heart Association.
