Opal Irene Kelley's Obituary
Opal Irene Kelley 91, of St. Charles, MO formally of Columbus, KS died
Sunday April 10, 2016 at the Frontier Nursing and Rehab Center in St.
Charles, MO following an illness.
Opal was born July 17, 1924 in Chetopa, KS the daughter of Fred and
Essie (Rivers) Brown; she was a graduate of Columbus High School.
On February 19, 1944 Opal married Osro “Red” Kelley in Pitcher, OK;
he preceded her in death in 1975.
Opal was a homemaker; a member of the East Side Christian Church in
Columbus, KS; a member of the American Legion Auxilary and was
known to love to help others.
Survivors include her son Bill Joe Kelley of St. Charles, MO;
grandchildren Dennis Kelley and Jennifer Randol; great-grandchildren
Megan Kelley, Ashley Kelley, Aimee Kelley and Elizabeth Randol and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband; son Albert Kelley; brothers
Albert and Raymond Brown; sisters Helen Gambill and Pearl Mock; and
2 additional stillborn brothers.
Funeral Services will be 11:00am Friday April 15, 2016 at the Bath-
Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus, KS with Pastor Dennis Johnson
officiating. Burial will follow at the Park Cemetery in Columbus, KS.
Family will receive friends from 10-11:00am prior to the service at the
funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy
to be in the form of memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association. Friends
may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 611 S. East
