Sorry I was unable to make services. Didn’t leave OK in time to make it. Nadine was a wonderful woman and a dear lady. I worked with her at the American Legion Post 394 for many years. The last 15, I was not in area but kept in touch thru facebook until she stopped activities, Last time seen her about 8 months ago she did not remember me but them I’m no longer a curly redhead but a short haired grey lady. She did a lot for Post 394 and I will always remember her enthusiasm and love of life. I was still walking parades with her when she was in her 60’s and she walked better than me and I’m 30 years younger. My best memory of her was when I suggested we get a new flag because it needed updated and she said that’s our original flag and I commented, and it’s still in great condition, but we have added 2 states since then and we should be carrying a correct flag. We all laughed as this was 1995 and it should have been updated in 1959. She had it replaced before the next parade. All those years and even the other color guards had not noticed the difference. We did lots of parades back then and she always volunteered. She kept Post 394 afloat as the stead hand and push to keep it active when not many females wanted to continue their service to country. She will be missed but all she touched. Remember all the good times with your wonderful mother/grandmother. I remember she was so proud of Kipp who played taps at funerals for so many veterans back then.
