Michael L. Hagerty's Obituary
Michael L Hagerty, 80, of Frontenac, KS, died September 20, 2024, at his home following a sudden illness.
He was born August the 2, 1944 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Albert Francis “Pete” Hagerty and Caroline Lucille (Baker) Hagerty.
He was an Army veteran serving in the Kansas National Guard. Michael was a self-employed mechanic, and he was also a volunteer fire chief for the Frontenac City Fire Department for many years. He was also the first paid fire chief of Frontenac.
He was a member of the John F. Derby American Legion Post #43. He was also a member of the Pittsburg Masonic Lodge, Valley of Ft. Scott, York Rite and the Mirza Shrine.
Survivors include a son Mike A. (Danika) Hagerty and, Patrick A. Hagerty both of Frontenac, a brother John Hagerty of Pittsburg, a sister Bernadine (Tom) McLeod of Frontenac; three grandchildren Michael Q. Hagerty, Sean P. Hagerty and Madison Jo Hagerty along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother William Francis Hagerty.
Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday, September 27, 2024, at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac with Rev. Daryl Gaddy officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac. Condolences may be left at www.friskelfuneralhome.com. Memorials may be made to the Shriners General Fund. Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Friskel Funeral Home Frontenac, KS.
