Merle Allan Orender's Obituary
Merle Allan Orender, 82, of Olathe, KS, passed away on October 31, 2025, at The Village at Olathe.
Merle was born on May 21, 1943, in Pittsburg, KS, to Bethel G. and Mildred M. (Smith) Orender. He graduated high school and went on to his bachelor’s degree at UMKC. Merle worked as a Material Manager for General Motors at the Fairfax plant, where he was also a proud member of the United Auto Workers.
He was a devoted member of the Church of God in Pittsburg. Merle enjoyed spending time with his friends at the assisted living community. He loved traveling across the United States by train and car, and he especially cherished the companionship of his beloved cat, Snowball.
Merle is survived by his siblings; June Pryor (Danny) of Frontenac, KS, Stephen Orender of Dayton, TN, Darrell Orender (Sherri) of Oronogo, MO; his grandchildren, Nicholas Kline (Amanda) of Olathe, KS, and Patricia Fowler (Mitchell) of Paola, KS; and great-grandchildren Jaxon and Jordan Kline, and Emma and Elizabeth Fowler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers, Paul and Philip Orender; brother Kenneth Orender; two daughters, Terri Kline and Robyn Orender; and a grandson, Christopher Barragan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Crocker Cemetery.
