Mary Jo Anderson's Obituary
PLAINFIELD, ILLINOIS – Mary Jo Anderson, 86, of Plainfield, died July 8, 2024 at Thrive of Fox Valley in Aurora, Illinois.
She was born March 21, 1938 in Girard, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Mary Fearmonti Grano. She graduated from Arma High School in 1955.
Mrs. Anderson lived in Overland Park, KS, and Downers Grove Illinois, while working for the Prudential Insurance Company.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arma, KS and then Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, Kansas, the Altar Society of both Churches and was a volunteer at Via Christi Hospital and St. Mary’s Goodwill store.
She is survived by her daughter Dawn Denon and her husband Drew of Naperville, Illinois and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Frank J. Grano and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am Monday, July 15, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Arma, Kansas with Father Daniel Vacca, as celebrant. The lector will be Mike Doue. The soloist will be Buddy Gorentz and the organist will be Sharon Barone. Pallbearers will be Mike Forsythe, Steve Lucchi, Jim Ciardullo, Garrett Forsythe, Buddy Gorentz, and Mike Doue. Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Pittsburg, KS. The parish rosary will be recited at 10:30 am, Monday, July 15, 2024 at the church prior to the mass. The family will receive friends prior to the rosary service at the church. Arrangements are by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS.
