Mark Steve Deckard's Obituary
Mark Steve Deckard 68, of Pittsburg, KS died 4:55pm Thursday December 10, 2020 at his home following an illness.
Mark was born October 23, 1952 in Pittsburg, KS the son of Joe J. and Frances A. (Gilmore) Deckard. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of Pittsburg High School. He later joined the United States Navy serving his country during the Vietnam War.
On August 9, 1986 Mark married Stephanie L. Marquess in Pittsburg, KS; she survives at the home. Mark worked in maintenance for the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant for several years retiring in 1992. Mark was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was known to be a collector of many things.
Survivors include his wife; daughter Tiffany Deckard of Pittsburg, KS; siblings David J. Deckard and wife Becky of Wichita, KS and Judy Wingebach and husband Bernie of Arma, KS; nephews B.J. Wingebach and Nathan Wingebach and his loving dog Sam of the home.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30am Thursday December 17, 2020 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Andrew Labenz as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the SEK Humane Society of Pittsburg, KS.
