Marion George Bass' Obituary
WEIR, KS – Marion George Bass, 65, of Weir, died July 17, 2016 at his home.
He was born September 14, 1950 in Pittsburg the son of Albert William and Cora Jane Albertson Bass. He had lived in Weir for the past six years.
He served in the US Army from 1969 to 1970.
George owned and operated a flea market in Cherokee, KS.
Survivors include two daughters Patricia K. Ahrens of South Lyon, Michigan and Georgiana L. Williams of Kansas City, KS, two brothers Bud Bass and Bill Bass both of Kingman Arizona, two sisters Coretta Gideon and Alice Stewart both of Weir, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Charles, William and Jim Bass, one sister Loretta Goodwin and one great-grandson Peyton Michael Harris.
Graveside memorial services will be 10 am Saturday at the Crocker Cemetery with Pastor Jim Fryer of the Independent Bible Baptist Church in Pittsburg, officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Crocker Cemetery. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial to help with final expenses in care of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home & Crematory, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS.
