Maedeen Back's Obituary
Maedeen Back, 96, of Columbus, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by family.
She was born June 29, 1927 in Purdy, MO, the daughter of Max and Nellie (Bowers) Elliott.
On February 22, 1945, Maedeen married Dale Back, they celebrated 66 years of marriage. Dale preceded her in death on March 26, 2011.
Maedeen was a member of the Center Christian Church. She spent much of her career as an office manager for Dr. Belcher in Columbus. After retirement, her joy was making arts and crafts with her husband Dale.
They enjoyed selling them at Arts and Crafts shows around the area.
Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play sports and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her two sons; Steve (Angie) Back of Raymore, MO, Gregg (Jan) Back of Oswego, KS, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, son; Bob Back, daughter; Cathy Craig, her parents, three siblings; Maxine Jones, Pat Elliott, and Barbara Lee.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus.
The family request memorials to be made to the Center Christian Church; these may be dropped off or mailed to the funeral home.
