Leroy Tilley's Obituary
Leroy Tilley 84, of Pittsburg, KS died 3:07am Friday November 4, 2016 at the Medicalodge Nursing Home in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Leroy was born September 16, 1932 in Arkansas the son of Charlie Floyd and Anna Murriel (Vanzant) Tilley. Leroy has lived in this community for the last 60 years.
On January 15, 1955 Leroy married Wanda June Carpenter in Nevada, MO; she survives at the home.
In Leroy’s early years he worked as a truck-driver and later at Annshire Garment Factory in Pittsburg, KS. He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Pittsburg, KS; enjoyed working for the sheriffs department as a reserve officer; loved motorcycles, Nascar, hunting and fishing. Leroy will be most remembered by his love of his family and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife; children Steve Tilley and wife Tammy of Girard, KS, Rhonda Robson and husband Eric of Pittsburg, KS; siblings Charlene Carrol of Memphis, TN, Retha Smith of Mountain View, AR and Larry Tilley of Jonesborough, AR; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, son Danny Tilley, brothers Billy Tilley, Guy Tilley and a grandson Jayden Tilley.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Tuesday November 8, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Allan Parker officiating. Burial will follow at the Crocker Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 7-8:00pm Monday November 7, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00pm Monday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Cornerstone Church. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
