LeRoy O. Kirchner age 87 of Columbus KS. Passed away February 12th 2026In Columbus, KS. He was born in Benson, NE. August 25th 1938, to Leo and Thelma (Williams) Kirchner. He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte (Siedel) Kirchner, they were married 50 years.
He is survived by his 2 daughters Lori (Tom) Zwahlen, Joanne (Nick)Kirchner-Macri, 6 Grandchildren Megan (Trustin) Shiflett, Anna (Matthew) Leet, Joel (Rachel) Zwahlen, Kendall (Austin) Macri-Will, Hayden Macri (Nicole), Andriana (Guy) Badeau. 6 Great grandchildren, & one more great granddaughter on the way.
LeRoy served 6 years in the US Army and was stationed in France. Followed by an assortment of interesting jobs before beginning a 30 year career at Continental Can Company, He was an amazing father. In his daughter’s eyes there was nothing he could not do. He loved his family, music, gardening, and animals particularly squirrels. As a young boy he had a pet squirrel named Timmy that would ride on his shoulder and hold his ear when LeRoy rode his bicycle, he also tamed a few wild squirrels over the years, he loved having bird feeders and watching them from his porch. LeRoy was loved by everyone. Was willing to do anything for anyone LeRoy will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. The family is having a private celebration of life
