Leonarda Martinez de Torres' Obituary
Leonarda Martinez de Torres 67, of Pittsburg, KS died 6:31am Sunday May 10, 2026 at her home following an illness.
Leonarda was born November 6, 1958 in Durango, Mexico the daughter of Prudencio and Casilda (Rodriguez) Martinez. She came to this community in 2008.
On January 17, 1996 Leonarda married Dario Torres in Cameron, TX; he survives at the home. Leonarda worked for Peerless Products in Ft. Scott, KS for 14 years working in manufacturing division. Leonarda was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; she loved gardening, sewing, her family and most of all her grandkids.
Survivors include her husband; children Mike Torres of Temple, TX, Xavier Torres of Cameron, TX, Martin Martinez of Pittsburg, KS and Hector Torres of Pittsburg, KS; siblings Onesima Bolivar of Cameron, TX, Petrita Martinez of Cameron, TX, Manuel Martinez of Belton, KS, Nato Martinez of Chihuahua, Mexico and Martin Martinez of Chihuahua, Mexico; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Leonarda was preceded in death by her parents and sister Josefa Martinez.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Thursday May 14, 2026 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Simone as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Rosary will be recited at 6:00pm Wednesday May 13, 2026 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call the funeral home after 3:00pm Wednesday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund.
