Lega Albergucci Simone's Obituary
PITTSBURG, KS – Lega Albergucci Simone, of Pittsburg, died April 15,
2016 at Carrington Assisted Living in Pittsburg, KS.
She was born December 10, 1915 in West Mineral, KS to Angelo and
Margharita Marchetti Albergucci. She attended area schools and
graduated from Crawford County High School in Cherokee, KS in 1933.
She graduated from Grants Beauty College in Pittsburg, KS in 1937 and
worked in various beauty shops and then started a beauty shop in her
home and worked in that shop for over 35 years.
She married Mike Simone at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Pittsburg, KS in November 19, 1948. He preceded her in death on
February 1, 2006.
Also preceding in death were her parents Angelo and Margaherita
Albergucci, one brother Arkie Albergucci and one sister Viola Albergucci
Fergusson.
She belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg and
St. Mary’s Altar Society. Mike and Lega attended the Sacred Heart
Adoration Chapel for Over 10 years.
Survivors are nephews and nieces, Jerry and Carol Simone, Jack and
Mary Lou Simone, Stephen and Mary Kay Simone, who provided for her
care. Additional nieces and nephews include, James and Judy
Kennedy, Colleen Geier, Warren and Nancy Wandling, Betty Cardiali
and Margaret Ann Albergucci.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Our
Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Michael Simone, as
celebrant. The soloist will be Dolores Towner and the organist will be
Sharon Barone. Pallbearers will be Jackie Simone, Jerry Simone, Steve
Simone, Jim Caput, Todd Plouvier and John Geier. Honorary
pallbearers will be Roy Richey and Mark Bestor. Burial will be in the
Garden of Memories Cemetery Pittsburg, KS. The parish rosary will be
recited at 6:30pm Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral
Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS. Friends may call from 11am to
5pm on Monday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established
to Our Lady of Lourdes Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
