I was sad to hear the passing of my friend. Many fun and crazy memories. He had a pure heart that was so great to be around. I will always have him in my heart. I wish I could be there for his good bye.

So sorry to hear of L.W.'s untimely passing. Lots of good memories growing up around him in the 60s and 70s and working with him at the family's gas station.
L.W. and I shared so many good times together. In middle school & Jr. High we spent hundreds of hours in his "clubhouse"—an old panel truck in his yard where we talked and laughed the day away.
I played organ in a band called the "Circulations" and he was a true super fan of our group. He would stand beside my organ as I played and dance by himself. I started giving him my tambourine and he would play it and dance. Eventually, I gave him the light console and he would change the lights to the beat of the music. He even recorded our band on a cassette recorder—a new invention at the time. L.W. loved music!
Our junior year in high school, L.W., Keith Morrison, Terry Allen, and I were dating the “Walnut Girls.” Many Saturday nights, the 8 of us would pile into his station wagon and go to the drive-in movie in Parsons.
On Sunday afternoons, we would return to Walnut to be with the girls and had so much fun. One Sunday afternoon someone had the bright idea to climb the Walnut water tower. A concerned citizen called the sheriff and a deputy came out and ordered us to come down, and then gave us a lecture on responsibility.
We went separate ways after high school but I still cherish the times we had together. L.W. was a great guy and I was privileged to call him my “friend.”
You were always in our family and always will be. We were honored to have L dub share the stage with us in the Little Buddha band. Those Hammond Organs and Leslie’s weighed a ton, but it was all worth it just having you at my side. Most memorable moment was when my little 8 year old donated his only bicycle to the club to help raise money for “thug’s” liver transplant, and you had him on the cover of the club’s newspaper, we were so proud. That little 8 year old is 25 and teaching high school and college, and his brother 36 has his own business. You were there beside them growing up. Love you Brother.

LW was one of my best friends through high school. He played piano and organ in several bands with me. The first was called The Knights of Sound with Frank Knapp, Tim Oliver and Terry Allen. At one point, he bought a church organ with a Leslie unit. I still remember that sitting in the living room of their home. He was a good friend and I don't think I ever heard him say an unkind word about anyone. He will be missed, but the memories of of playing music together will live on.

LW was one of a kind. God broke the mold after making him. If you were his friend...it was for life. Many memories ! There is a BIG party in Heaven with all who have gone before him.
