LaTaunya M. Martin's Obituary
LaTaunya Marie Martin, 64, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away peacefully at Pittsburg Care and Rehab in Pittsburg, KS, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
LaTaunya was a very warm and loving person. She loved being a mother and grandmother, and will be remembered as an especially hard worker, having always worked multiple jobs to support her family. Her family remembers her as a selfless person, and as someone who found satisfaction in the simple things in life, like cooking for her family at a Sunday dinner. She loved to play BINGO, and was always happy to play cards on a game night with her family as well.
She is survived by her husband, Reginald Martin; her children, Maurice and Sierra Stewart, Taynon Stewart and Valerie Edwards, Mason Stewart and Korchi Yang, Chapril Stewart, Contril Stewart, Chania Stewart, Jenna Fairley and Billy Durden; her siblings, Kimberly Reed, Althea Porter, Mark Porter, and Trisha Coleman; and 19 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Porter and Barbara Gaines; and her siblings, Tracy Gaines and James Porter Jr.
A memorial service will be held for LaTaunya at Lighthouse Temple Ministries at 202 W 9th Street in Pittsburg, KS on Saturday May 17, 2025 at 1pm. Her cremation is arranged with the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.
