Kevin S. Wilson's Obituary
Kevin S. Wilson 60, of Arma, KS died surrounded by family and friends 1:29pm Saturday December 7, 2024 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS after a short battle with cancer. Kevin was born February 28, 1964 in Parsons, KS the son of James D. Wilson and Phyllis J. (Edwards) Merrell. Kevin was a graduate of Pittsburg High School in 1982 and later attended Pittsburg State University.
On September 7, 1985 Kevin married Linda J. Peterson in Pittsburg, KS; she survives at the home. Kevin worked as an Office Manager for List and Clark later known as Ashgrove and Holiday Sand and Gravel. He had worked for the company beginning in 1984 and up until his passing. Kevin was a believer in Christ. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He proudly supported Pawprints on the Heartland and often did charity work for the Humane Society. He loved watching sports and cheered on Alabama Football, KU Basketball, and the St. Louis Cardinals. He will be most remembered for the love he had for his friends and family, especially his four grand-daughters.
Survivors include his wife Linda; Father and stepmother James “Jim” and Mary Ann Wilson of Pittsburg; Mother Phyllis Merrell of Pittsburg; daughter Whitney N. Marrs and husband Markus of Tampa, FL and daughter Emily J. Law and husband Matthew of Carthage, MO; sister Teresa Coulter of Pittsburg, KS and grandchildren Kaydence and Adalyn Marrs and Saylor and Mia Law. As well as nieces, nephews, and several cousins.
Kevin was preceded in death by his step-father J.C. “Red” Merrell, maternal grandparents Cecil and Geraldine Edwards, paternal grandparents William Fred and Francis Wilson and a beloved fishing buddy Norm Caldwell.
Memorial Service will be 11:00am Saturday December 21, 2024 at the First Christian Church in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Dustin Morris officiating. Family will receive friends from 10-11:00am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be a private ceremony at a later date at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Pawprints on the Heartland. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
