Karlyn K. Crain's Obituary
Karlyn K. Crain, 82, of Hallowell, KS passed away on August 20, 2024 at Quaker Hill Nursing in Lowell, KS.
She was born on April 22, 1942 the daughter of Carl Handshy, Sr. and Pearl (Parsons) Handshy.
Karlyn attended school at Columbus and graduated from Columbus High School;
On July 3, 1959 she was united in marriage to Doyle G. Crain in Columbus, KS; he survives him of the home.
She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ in Columbus.
You will never meet a kinder woman; she was incredibly skilled in holding her tongue instead of saying something negative.
She leaves us with many happy and funny memories.
Mom raised my brother and I to be caring, productive adults. She still taught us, even
after we were adults. She also touched many others helping with their children.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Kimberly (Paul) Beckham; a son: Jeffery (Kim) Crain both of Columbus; four grandchildren: Misty (Jay) Spear, Curtis Watkins, Kandice (Joel) Ediger, Jeremy Crain, and Josh Crain, great-grandchildren: Cody Ediger, Keegan Harris, Hailey Ediger, Connor Crain, Cole Watkins, and Clay Watkins; .Karlyn is also survived by her brothers, Ray Handshy of Parsons, KS and Jesse Handshy of Columbus; her sisters, Mary Parker of Texas and Alice Delmont of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Sr. and Pearl (Parsons) Handshy; her sisters, Zelta Nanny and Anna Luckens; her brothers, Howard Handshy, Donald Handshy, and Carl Lloyd Handshy, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2pm Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus with Dale Hoggatt officiating. Burial will be in the McKee Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Columbus
