Karen A. Young's Obituary
Karen A. Young 62, of Pittsburg, KS died 7:55am Saturday August 19, 2023 at the Girard Medical Center in Girard, KS following an illness.
Karen was born August 24, 1960 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Fred and Eileen (Theys) Whetzell. She has lived in the Pittsburg area most all her life.
Karen worked as a Bartender at Little Gravy’s in Arma, others in the Pittsburg area, Pitt Plastics, Zouire’ and as a caregiver for SKIL. Karen enjoyed Gambling, Writing, Playing Pool, Canoeing, her dogs and collecting ink pens and clocks.
Survivors include her children Angela Radell and husband Steve of Pittsburg, KS, Shawn DeMaranville and Leslie Regan of Midlothian, TX, Curtis DeMaranville and wife Kassi of Arcadia, KS; sister Dottie Glenn and husband Clifford of Beloit, WI; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, son B.J. Young, siblings William Whetzell, Iris Runyon, John Whetzell, Theresa England and a niece Tiffany Whetzell.
A Visitation will be from 7-8:00pm Monday August 28, 2023 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS. Private burial will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS.
