John Arthur Peters' Obituary
John Arthur Peters 75, of Frontenac, KS died 1:51pm Monday May 25, 2026 at the Mercy Hospital in Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
John was born July 7, 1950 in Leoti, KS the son of Arthur Ferdinand and Mildred Elizabeth (Rhea) Peters. He moved to the Pittsburg community in 1964 from Garden City, KS. He was a graduate of Pittsburg High School. John was a member of the United States Army Reserves. John married Jo Lee Hopper in Pittsburg, KS in August of 1970; they later divorced.
John worked for McNally, Dickey Clay and most recently as a Security Guard for Pitt Plastics. John in his free time enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, skating and having a good time.
Survivors include his daughters Tammy Jo Peters of Frontenac, KS and Traci L. Peters and Tim Roth of Frontenac, KS; brothers Dennis Peters and wife Pam of Piedmont, OK and Ed Peters and wife Jean of Oklahoma City, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents and infant son John Arthur Peters Jr.
Funeral Services will be 10:00am Friday May 29, 2026 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS with Pastor Duane Elmore officiating. Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Pittsburg, KS. Family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm Thursday May 28, 2026 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; friends may call after 2:00pm Thursday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to Hope Lodge of Kansas City. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 522 S.
