Jimmy Leroy Lucchi's Obituary
Jimmy L. Lucchi 89, of Scammon, KS died at 6:38pm on Thursday June 19, 2025 at his home following an illness.
Jimmy was born November 2, 1935 in Cherokee, KS the son of Joe and Mabel Louise (Madison) Lucchi. He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Cherokee High School and attended school at Pittsburg State University.
On September 28, 1958, Jimmy married Kathleen G. Kelly at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in Scammon, KS; she survives at the home.
Jimmy was the owner and operator of Lucchi’s Service in Cherokee, KS for 45 years before retiring in 2006. He was a member of the St. Bridget’s Catholic Church; a member of the Knights of Columbus; a past member of Cherokee Rotary; and past member of Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife; children Lisa Starmer and husband Kenton of Webb City, MO, Mark Lucchi and wife Diana of Overland Park, KS and Terry Lucchi and wife Cathy of Pittsburg, KS; brother Jerry Lucchi and wife Barbara of Parkville, MO; grandchildren Julie Hofer and Kristen Perry; great-grandchildren Taylor Perry, Braden Hofer-Broyles, Brynna Hofer, Hudson Perry and Breckyn Hofer and a great-great grandson Colton Matthews.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harold and Bill Lucchi.
Private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church and private burial will follow at the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm on Monday June 23, 2025, at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Weir, KS. Family will receive friends following the rosary from 6:30-7:30 pm at the funeral home. Friends may call after 3:00 pm Monday. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, St. Bridget’s Church, or Wounded Warriors. Friends may drop off or mail memorials to Bath-Naylor Funeral Home 104 W. Main St. Weir, KS 66781.
