Janis L. Cronister's Obituary
PITTSBURG, KS – Janis L. Cronister, 77, of Pittsburg, died December 18, 2016 at her home of an illness.
She was born November 3, 1938 in Pittsburg the daughter of Willard B. and Lucille I. Beckett Kennett. She had been a lifelong resident of Pittsburg. She was a graduate of Pittsburg High School and Pittsburg State University.
She married Frank Lee Cronister on October 26, 1957 in Pittsburg. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2013.
Mrs. Cronister worked at Consumers Market as a meat wrapper for 22 years and later in the scanning department of Millers Professional Imaging in Pittsburg for 18 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Pittsburg, KS.
Survivors include two sons Kenneth Cronister (Annetta) of Pittsburg and David Cronister (Liz) of Pratt, KS, one brother Bob Kennett of Pittsburg, one sister Marge Rice of Opolis, KS, ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Gale Wayne Kennett and Billy Gene Kennett.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Michael Baldwin, as celebrant. Burial will be in the Highland Park Cemetery in Pittsburg. The parish rosary will be recited at 6 pm Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, where the family will receive their friends after the rosary service until 8 pm. A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
