James W. Woodard's Obituary
James W. Woodard, 93 of Columbus, KS died Monday, September 05, 2016 at the Medicalodge of Columbus.
He was born January 10, 1923 in Columbus, the son of Elmer L. and Henrietta J. (Hall) Woodard.
He was married to Maxine Crain; she preceded him in death on April 4, 2008.
Jim was a longtime member of the American Legion, VFW, DAV in Columbus and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
He was a rural letter carrier for the United States Postal Service.
Survivors include Richard and Mary Ellis who provided for his care of Palm Springs, CA; additional survivors are Mel & Jane Briley of Bella Vista, AR, Larry & Vickie Woodard, Mike Woodard of Columbus, Marsha Woodard of San Antonio, TX, Jess Woodard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Jeanine & Virg Hemphill of El Paso, TX and a host of other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine.
Services will be 10 am Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7-8pm. Condolences may be left at www.bathnaylor.com.
