James Travis Roark's Obituary
James Travis Roark, age 59, a lifelong resident of Columbus, KS, passed from this life on September 26, 2024.
Travis was born December 13, 1964 in Pittsburg, KS. His parents are James (Ed) Roark and Theda (Parker) Lucian.
He attended Columbus Unified High School graduating with the class of 1983 where he was an outstanding athlete. He was the first CUHS wrestler to go to the state tournament all 4 years with a 2nd place finish and 2 State Championships. He also played football all 4 years. In his early years Trav went through the Columbus mini wrestling program started by his father Ed Roark. He was also a state champion during his time in that program.
Travis went to work with his Grandpa Raymond Roark and learned the carpentry trade. He later owned and operated Roark Construction until failing health forced him into an early retirement.
He loved the outdoors and spent most of his free time deer and turkey hunting. His biggest passion was hunting arrowheads and he accumulated an impressive collection. Trav also coached his sons and many others in youth league football, baseball and wrestling.
Trav is survived by his parents, a brother Matt Roark, his companion Linda Overman, four sons; Zane, Zack, Ty and Sam. 2 grandsons.
Arrangements are under the care of Bath Naylor crematory. Private family service will be at a later date.
