James "Jim" E. Buckner's Obituary
James Earl “Jim” Buckner, 77, of Weir, KS passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 at his home in Weir, KS.
Jim was born July 10, 1948 in Wichita, KS, the son of James and Daisy (Whorel) Buckner. He married Wilma Louise Tillman on June 28, 1969 in Columbus, KS. She preceded him in death on February 23, 2010.
Prior to his retirement, Jim worked for Mid-America Pipe, was a member of the Methodist Church in Weir. In his free time, Jim enjoyed watching westerns and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He also had a fondness for simple meals, especially fried potatoes and eggs, a memory his grandchildren will always cherish.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristie Blythe and Carrie Buckner; one brother, Lloyd Buckner; five grandchildren, Marc Lowe Jr., Emmilie Blythe, Justin Blythe Jr., Katie Blythe, and Maddie Blythe; one great-grandchild, Malcom Lowe; his longtime partner, Kay Gary; and many extended family members and friends.
In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy Buckner, and his siblings, Bill Buckner and Roxanne Buckner.
Jim is to be cremated and buried alongside his late wife, Wilma at the Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus, KS. Funeral services are pending at this time.
Cremation arrangements are made through the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home of Pittsburg, KS.
