Jack R Uber's Obituary
Jack R. Uber, age 84, of Weir, KS, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 24th, after many blessed years of living life to the fullest. He was born in Weir on May 12, 1938.
Jack had enormous love for his family, friends, his hometown, cars, and animals. He was great with children, because frankly, Jack himself refused to grow up. He often shared this advice: “The family that plays together stays together.” Then, Jack played: poker, fishing, drag racing, board games, boating, rodeoing, water skiing and tubing, dirt bike racing, motorcycle riding, camping, volleyball, hunting, and more.
Jack found great joy in making those around him happy and laughing, and he always kept them guessing what might come out of his mouth next. He loved pranks, practical jokes, and pushing his children and grandchildren to their maximum adrenaline levels.
He retired from B and B Landfill. In addition, Jack owned several gas stations, a backhoe business, Weir trash service, worked for Columbus Ford, served as a Cherokee County deputy sheriff, and many other jobs over his years. He also had a hobby business of buying, repairing, and selling used cars throughout his whole life.
Jack’s cherished loved ones include his daughter Tracy Costley, and husband David; son Ray Uber, and wife Kellee; daughter Jacquelynn Owens, and husband Robert; daughter Connie Denise Johnson, and husband Fred; sister Marjorie Uber; brother Vernon Uber; brother Ronnie Uber; grandchildren Caleb Dye, Taylor Dye, Blaine Dye, Keese Uber, Allec Uber, Brayden Uber, Jenna Uber, Nicholas Johnson, and great grandchildren Nevaeh Triplett, and Sophia Dye. He was preceded in death by his father Dane Uber, mother Birdie Uber, brother Roger Uber, and son Daniel Uber. .
Jack left us with a legacy of how to live our lives: love deeply, see the good in all people, find fun in everything, play hard, take care of your friends, always seek the next adventure, and most of all, never grow up.
